Merit Certified Healthcare Professional
MCHP® Credential Steps
MCHP Associates must meet the following requirements to be certified to Basic Graduate status:
- An associates degree OR bachelor's degree and two years' healthcare experience.
- 33 hours of MPI Basic Course credit.
- Successful completion of certification exam.
Upon successful completion of the requirements listed above, you will have earned the right to be called board certified in long term healthcare management. You can then notify your colleagues and friends about your accomplishment and begin using "MCHP" following your name on professional correspondence immediately.
MCHP® Fellow: The Pinnacle of Achievement
An elite group of dedicated leaders are Fellows. As an MCHP Fellow—and as an leader who is board certified in long term healthcare management—you will position yourself for new professional opportunities through access to exclusive Fellows-only benefits and networking events. You will build relationships with many of the top long term healthcare leaders in the field.
To advance to Fellow status:
Please note the following requirements to be authorized to advance:
- Two years' tenure as a MCHP in good standing
- A healthcare management position or a healthcare management-related position of sufficient duties and responsibilities
- Evidence of participation and leadership in healthcare and community/civic affairs
- Successful completion of the 33 hour Basic Course to include exam
- Successful completion of the 30 hour Executive’s Course to include exam
